IPTV in Canada with Sonix

From Vancouver to St. John’s, Sonix works the same way: a player app on the TV or stick you already own, five plans priced in US dollars and setup help from a person. Here is what is different when you watch from Canada.

Paying from Canada

Prices are in US dollars. Here is what that means for you.

Sonix uses one price list for the US and Canada, in USD. Your bank converts the amount to Canadian dollars when you pay.

  • The CAD amount on your statement depends on your bank’s exchange rate that day.
  • Many Canadian credit cards add a foreign transaction fee (often around 2.5%). Some cards do not; check yours.
  • We do not add any fee on top of the USD price.
  • Refunds are issued in USD, so the CAD amount returned can differ slightly from what you paid.

Plans at a glance (USD)

  • 1 month: $17 USD ($17.00/mo)
  • 3 months: $33 USD ($11.00/mo)
  • 6 months: $44 USD ($7.33/mo)
  • 12 months: $65 USD ($5.42/mo)
  • 24 months: $120 USD ($5.00/mo)

Six time zones

Support hours and game times across Canada

Support hours on this site are listed in Eastern Time. A game that starts at 7:00 p.m. ET starts at these local times:

  • 4:00 p.m.Pacific — British Columbia
  • 5:00 p.m.Mountain — Alberta
  • 6:00 p.m.Central — Manitoba (Saskatchewan in summer)
  • 7:00 p.m.Eastern — Ontario, Quebec
  • 8:00 p.m.Atlantic — Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI
  • 8:30 p.m.Newfoundland

Saskatchewan stays on Central Standard Time all year, so in winter it matches Central and in summer it matches Mountain. On the West Coast, a prime-time game in the East is an afternoon game: plan your test line or setup before then.

What Canadians ask us

Hockey nights, French channels and winter evenings

Live hockey and other games

Sports coverage depends on the event. Send us the game a few days ahead and we will confirm it. For playoff nights, use a cable connection if you can.

French-language channels

Our website and support are in English. If your household watches in French, tell us which channels you want and we will check them before you subscribe.

Rural and cottage connections

On fixed wireless, satellite internet or a busy rural line, test at your usual viewing time before choosing a long plan. We can advise on settings for slower connections.

Canada questions

Watching from Canada

Why are prices in US dollars?

We keep one price list for the US and Canada so prices stay consistent everywhere on the site. Your bank converts the amount when you pay.

Is Sonix available in every province and territory?

Sonix streams over the internet, so it works anywhere you have a suitable connection. Quality depends on your local internet service, so test before choosing a long plan.

Can I watch Canadian channels?

National channels are part of the service. Line-ups change, so tell us the channels you watch most and we will confirm them before you pay.

Do you offer support in French?

Our website and support are in English. We are happy to check French-language channels for you.
